POISON PEN
Ever since we met she got in the way
She did not want me near and never to stay
You asked me to come to visit with you
It would be in July is all that I knew
You wanted more details like exactly when?
That's when she first struck with her poison pen
She tried to block me from contacting you
I always knew I had a way to get through
But this last thing she did was without cause
It gave me time to reflect and to pause

To show we were friends and maybe we would find
Somewhere to go to our private place
But the poison pen came across my face
What is done is done it can not change now
You do not know where to start or even how
She will have to pay for the wrongs she has done
To keep us apart from becoming one
Your price is dear more than you can pay
You will never be with someone she will allow to stay.
